Houston-based CHI St. Luke's Health is increasing its presence significantly in the Houston area through the acquisition of a physician group, a small hospital system, two freestanding emergency room centers and notably, an ambulatory surgery system, according to Houston Chronicle.
Here are four key takeaways:
1. The health system is rebranding Woodlands (Texas) Ambulatory Surgery Center, an ASC system, as CHI St. Luke's Health Surgery Center. CHI St. Luke's also acquired Conroe Emergency Center and Woodland Emergency Center, but has not renamed the facilities to date.
2. The health system also acquired Greater Houston Physicians Medical Association, which is comprised of more than 100 physicians, 25 affiliated clinics and medical group locations.
3. CHI St. Luke's also acquired Apollo Hospital System, a five-bed facility with 16 outpatient centers. The health system will rename the facility CHI St. Luke's-Pinecroft Hospital.
4. The health system did not disclose the deal's financial terms.
