Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan., has revealed plans for an $18 million, 40,000-square-foot surgery center that will be the largest expansion in the hospital's history, according to a Joplin Globe report.
The timeline for completion is 18 to 24 months, according to hospital spokesman Michael Hayslip. He said the hospital's existing surgery center is a fraction of the size, with much smaller rooms.
The expansion should also come with job openings for about 20 surgeons, physicians and specialists.
