Providence Medical Technology Receives FDA Clearance for Bone Screws

Providence Medical Technology has announced it has received FDA clearance to market PMT bone screws in the United States, according to a news release.

The bone screws are indicated for use in bone reconstruction, osteotomy, arthrodesis, joint fusion, fracture repair and fracture fixation appropriate for the size of the device.

"This clearance represents an important step in broadening our posterior cervical platform of single use disposable instruments and implants," said Jeff Smith, CEO of Providence Medical Technology, in the release. "Posterior indirect decompression and fusion provides a compelling minimally-invasive alternative for patients suffering from cervical radiculopathy."

Providence Medical Technology anticipates full market release during the first half of 2013.

Providence Medical Technology is headquartered in San Francisco.
