Owens & Minor will acquire Celesio AG's Movianto Group, according to a news release.
Celesio AG, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is a provider of logistics and services in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. Movianto specializes in third-party logistics for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
The purchase price is $158 million.
Owens & Minor plans to integrate Movianto with its U.S.-based, third-party logistics service, and plans to keep the Movianto teams and logistics centers located across Europe intact.
"The intended acquisition of Movianto provides Owens & Minor with a premier European healthcare logistics franchise, enabling us to significantly expand our existing third-party logistics presence and scale," said Craig Smith, president and CEO of Owens & Minor, in the release.
