Nonprofit Foundation Offers Financial Assistance for Children's Medical Needs

Nonprofit UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation is offering financial assistance to children whose healthcare costs are only partially or not covered, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch news report.

Families of partially covered or non-covered children can apply for financial assistance and receive up to $5,000 to help cover medical expenses, including equipment, occupational and speech therapy and surgeries, according to the news report.

In order to qualify, children must be at least 16 years or age. Families must meet certain economic guidelines, live in the U.S. and have a commercial health plan. Financial assistance can also cover medical expenses the family has incurred 60 days prior to applying.
