A group of Michigan podiatrists has formed the Michigan Podiatric Surgeons Group, joining a growing number of accountable-care organizations in the state to contract directly with health insurers and secure lower supply prices from medical supply vendors, according to a Crain’s Detroit Business report.
The group consists of 65 podiatrists, the majority of whom practice in metro Detroit, and aims to prove value to insurers through the development of best clinical practices for more than two dozen podiatric procedures.
