Kensey Nash Acquires Assets of Synthes' Norian Subsidiary for $22M

Kensey Nash Corp. announced that it has acquired the assets including the product lines of Synthes' Norian subsidiary for $22 million in cash, according to a report by Reuters.

 

Norian currently manufactures orthobiosurgery products that are exclusively distributed by Synthes. As part of the companies' long-term supply agreement, Kensey Nash will manufacture Norian products and Synthes will exclusively distribute them. The companies also signed a research and development agreement to create certain related future products.

 

Also, manufacturing of the Norian product will move from a Synthes facility in West Chester, Pa., to a Kensey Nash facility in Exton, Pa., over 18-24 months.
