Amerinet Receives Award for Contributions to Environmentally Responsible Healthcare

Amerinet, a national group purchasing organization, has announced it has been named the recipient of the 2011 Champion for Change Award by Practice Greenhealth for outstanding contributions to environmentally responsible healthcare.

 

The Champion for Change Award is an award given by Practice Greenhealth, an organization for institutions in the healthcare community making commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly practices, to organizations for supplying healthcare products and services considerate of the earth and its resources, according to an Amerinet news release.

"As a multi-year recipient of the Champion for Change Award, Amerinet recognizes the importance of building partnerships and employing a contracting strategy that encourages and influences manufacturers to provide products that are safer for the environment," said Todd Ebert, Amerinet president and CEO, in the news release. "Amerinet's GreenCare Initiative exemplifies our commitment as a leader in environmental responsiveness in the healthcare industry, working internally and externally to improve the environment while bringing savings and quality to members."

 

Amerinet's environmental successes for 2010 include the launch of the Amerinet Choice Energy Program and better integration with members to share best practices in environmental stewardship and sustainability
