Amerinet, a national healthcare solutions organization, has announced the launch of a new web-based value-based purchasing tool, according to an Amerinet news release.
The tool — called the Amerinet Value-Based Purchasing Analyzer — provides access to an acute care hospital's Clinical Process of Care and Patient Experience of Care performance, derived from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey.
The Amerinet Value-Based Purchasing Analyzer uses the most recent four quarters of Medicare/Medicaid inpatient discharge data available from CMS and its linear calculation methodology to capture the value-based purchasing scores.
"The new CMS value-based purchasing program is one of several delivery system reforms that will affect Medicare inpatient fee-for-service in the coming years," said Todd Ebert, CEO and president for Amerinet, in the release. "The Amerinet Value-Based Purchasing Analyzer provides acute care executives with the direction and understanding needed to address individual performance metrics in order to increase their incentive shareback payments. This is just one more example of Amerinet helping our members to achieve quality and patient-centered excellence."
Features of the tool include the ability to view hospital scores in comparison to national benchmarks and national thresholds on each of the 12 clinical process of care and eight HCAHPS patient experience of care measures, access the financial reimbursement impact of hospital scores to learn earnback payment and compare hospital scores to a group of peer hospitals.
