Englewood, Colo.-based SurgOne was recognized for exceptional patient care at the 2019 CMS Quality Conference, Jan. 29-31 in Baltimore, according to the Colorado State Innovation Model.
Three highlights:
1. SurgOne was selected as the "top story" in the medication management category. With significant physician buy-in, the multispecialty surgical group cut its opioid prescribing by 50 percent in 2018.
2. The practice also achieved a lower surgical infection rate and saved $10 million annually by utilizing ASCs.
3. SurgOne is participating in the Colorado Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative, a federally funded network intended to help providers navigate compensation changes resulting from the shift to value-based reimbursement.
