New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has vetoed three bills that would have required certification for central service technicians, surgical technologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists, according to an AORN public policy news report.
The proposed bills would have set forth certification requirements for the three healthcare roles, but Gov. Cuomo vetoed the bills, arguing they failed to clearly address scope of practice, supervisions, oversight and regulatory jurisdictions and other issues.
