Mercy Memorial Hospital System in Monroe, Mich., will incorporate a flu vaccine policy for employees, according to a Monroe News report.
Mercy Memorial is mandating all employees show proof of influenza vaccination. Those who choose not to get vaccinated will be required to wear a surgical mask whenever coming within six feet of a patient, according to the report.
Mercy Memorial is the one of the most recent healthcare providers to institute such an infection control policy for its employees. Hospital Sisters Health System in Illinois and Children's Medical Center of Dayton in Ohio have implemented similar policies.
