Covidien, a provider of healthcare products, has announced the discontinuation of its non-sterile alcohol prep pad product line sold under the brand names Webcol and Curity, effective February 2012.
Covidien will continue to offer equivalent sterile products as a replacement for the discontinued non-sterile codes. The company decided to pull the aforementioned products due to recent discoveries of Bacillus cereus in other manufacturers' products. Covidien itself has never recalled any of its alcohol prep pads.
