The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology has announced it is partnering with the Association for the Healthcare Environment for an education campaign focused on strengthening the relationship between infection prevention and environmental services, according to an APIC news release (pdf).
The campaign is titled "Clean Spaces, Healthy Patients: Leaders in Infection Prevention and Environmental Services working together for better patient outcomes." It will incorporate educational resources, training materials and other solutions for infection preventionists and environmental services to improve patient outcomes and reduce infections.

The focus of the educational campaign was determined through a survey of 2,000 members of APIC and AHE which assessed how they work together to protect patients.
