Ansell Limited, a provider of protection solutions, has debuted two new synthetic surgical gloves at AORN 58th Congress, according to a company news release.
The surgical gloves — Derma Prene IsoTouch White and Derma Prene IsoTouch Micro White — are made of 100 percent synthetic polyisoprene, prevent Type I allergic reactions and are designed to reduce skin irritation and improve skin condition.
Both gloves are also alcohol resistant, offer damp-hand and double donnability and feature a surface treatment to provide a greater-degree of grip, according to the release. Ansell says the Derma Prene IsoTouch Micro White gloves are ideal for delicate procedures in ophthalmic, micro and cardiovascular surgeries.
"Ansell's mandate is to eradicate dangerous allergies in the workplace and to provide nurses with the best solution for their individual needs," said Patty Taylor, vice president of marketing at Ansell, in the release. "Allergic reactions can be debilitating — causing occupational, physical, and even emotional issues. The AORN annual conference was an ideal platform to introduce Derma Prene IsoTouch White and Derma Prene IsoTouch Micro White gloves because it gave us the opportunity to speak to so many of our customers who struggle with the affects of allergic reactions."
