A handful of ASCs were recently recognized for quality efforts:
A report from the Duke Infection Control Outreach Network found zero instances of surgical site infections at MEDARVA Stony Point Surgery Center in Richmond, Va., for two of the procedures its surgeons perform. This is the fourth consecutive year the ASC has received a report showing zero SSIs.
The California Ambulatory Surgery Association recognized three ASCs for excellence in ambulatory surgery. The three Sutter Health ASCs that were honored were Sutter Alhambra Surgery Center, Palo Alto Medical Foundation Surgery Center and PAMF Surgery Center San Carlos. The centers won three of four awards given by the association, which honor member facilities that promote ASC quality.
