This year, Steven Ozeran, MD, medical director of Lewiston, Idaho-based Ozeran Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, made the decision to close down his practice's affiliated ASC, Syringa Surgery Center, due in part to a nursing shortage that has been impacting practices nationwide.
North Carolina
Asheville, N.C.-based GenesisCare Surgical Specialists closed after its private equity-backed management company GenesisCare filed for bankruptcy.
Oregon
In February, the Salem (Ore.) Outpatient Surgery Center closed its doors in response to low patient volumes, putting all future plans on hold. Months later, the building still remains shuttered.
Texas
Marble Falls, Texas-based Hill Country Memorial Surgery Center closed March 31.
West Virginia
Cabell Huntington Hospital, a member of Mountain Health Network, closed its outpatient surgery center and phased out home health services in West Virginia.
