1. The average weekly travel nurse pay in July in the U.S. was $2,447.83, down from $2,677.19 in the same month in 2022, according to a report from Vivian Health, a national healthcare hiring marketplace.
2. Travel nurse pay for the position of director of nursing saw a 7.46 percent month-over-month increase in July compared with June, the highest increase of any travel nurse specialty, according to the Vivian Health report.
3. Pay for travel nurses working in outpatient surgery decreased 4.1 percent month-over-month increase in July compared with June, the biggest decrease of any travel nurse specialty, according to the Vivian Health report.
4. Alaska saw a 7.18 percent decrease in travel nurse pay month-over-month in July compared with June, according to the Vivian Health report.
5. Albany, N.Y.-based St. Peter's Health Partners will no longer hire travel nurses who live within a 50-mile radius of their workplace.
