The richest women in healthcare

The U.S. has four female billionaires who made their fortunes from the healthcare industry, according to Forbes' live net worth tracker

Here are the four richest women in healthcare in the U.S.: 

Note: Net worths are up to date as of June 12. 

Ronda Stryker ($8.2 billion) is a director of medical equipment company Stryker. Stryker was founded by Ms. Stryker's grandfather, Homer Stryker. She owns about 6% of Stryker and sits on the company's board of directors. 

Pat Stryker ($3.9 billion) is a grandchild of Mr. Stryker. She now works as a philanthropist, founding the Bohemian Foundation, which supports music, community and civic programs.

Alice Schwartz ($2.5 billion) launched Bio-Rad Laboratories in 1952 with her husband. Bio-Rad now sells 10,000 life science research and clinical diagnostics products. Ms. Schwartz stepped down from the board in 2022. 

Amy Wyss ($2 billion) is the daughter of Hansjoerg Wyss, who founded medical equipment company Synthes. Ms. Wyss worked at Synthes for years before it was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2012 for $19.7 billion.
