Bethesda, Md.-based Massachusetts Avenue Surgery Center became a part of Surgical Care Affiliates' network of surgical care providers.

1. Massachusetts Avenue Surgery Center's 27 physician partners serve patients in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
2. The center offers orthopedic, spinal, general, gynecological, podiatric, urologic, ophthalmologic, joint replacement and pain management surgery.
3. SCA Vice President of Operations Diana Shi said the partnership will increase SCA's "capacity and capability to provide high-cost surgical services, such as total joint replacement, in a low-cost, accessible setting in Montgomery County."
