Oswego (N.Y.) Health's Surgery Center has performed its first robotically assisted surgery, according to a July 9 report from CNY Central.
The procedure was performed using the da Vinci Xi surgical system by bariatric surgeon Kenneth Cooper, DO.
The da Vinci Xi system improves surgeon precision and visibility and allows for smaller incisions.
The robot will be used within Oswego Health for bariatric, urology and general surgery.
