Howard Adelglass, MD, was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for distributing oxycodone illegally out of his New York City practice.

Dr. Adelglass was convicted in November of prescribing extremely large quantities of oxycodone for no legitimate medical purpose, according to the report, according to a March 8 Justice Department news release.

He operated a pain management clinic alongside Marcello Sansone, the manager of the office, who was also sentenced to 12.5 years in prison. They were additionally sentenced to three years of supervised release, the Justice Department said.
