Question: Where do you see the best opportunity for your center's strategic growth? What areas are you investing in today?

Joseph D'Agostino: There is immense focus and outreach in the local marketplace to stay up to date with the actions of competing health systems. We are heavily investing in ENT and general surgery in one surgery center and heavily invested in ophthalmology in the other surgery center.

Q: How do you see your center evolving in the future?

JD: Continued partnerships with current surgeons as well as the recruitment of new surgeons on new viable procedures and techniques, adoption of new technology, community education, etc.

Q: What procedures or specialties do you see moving more outpatient over the next two years?

JD: Orthopedic and spine procedures will move more into the outpatient setting, and I think especially total joints will continue to flourish in the ASC.

Q: What challenges do you anticipate in the outpatient landscape coming down the pipe?

JD: Limited reimbursement hurdles for ASCs versus hospital outpatient departments and actively managing the usage of costly supplies.
