Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has signed a law revising the certificate-of-need statute for ASCs, law firm Polsinelli wrote in an article published July 10 by JD Supra.
Effective July 1, physician-owned single specialty and joint venture single specialty ASCs will be able to allow non-owners to perform operations at facilities, provided they are of the same surgical specialty as the ASC.
The amendment also allows for the owner or operator of a surgery center to enter into a management or administrative services agreement, the article said.
