Family-owned North Carolina practice closes amid financial struggles

Quasar Family Medicine North Carolina announced the closure of its Greenville practice Sept. 3, WITN reported. 

The facility is shuddering due to the financial challenges of trying to grow the business while operating under a holistic family-practice model, said practice founder and president Sean Feinberg, MD. 

"We've been working to make the practice financially viable despite significant challenges. Our team has been relentless in trying to operate the practice in line with our core values and to make it financially sustainable," he said in the release shared with Becker's

Quasar acquired the practice from Carolina East Family Medicine in December 2023. Since the acquisition, Quasar aimed to run the practice on a value-based, patient-centered care model.
