Michelle Farber, RN, CIC, is the 2012 president of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, an organization for which she has served nearly 30 years. Ms. Farber has served as chair of the Minnesota chapter and national chapter conference committee, chair of the APIC scientific abstract selection committee as well as president, treasurer and membership director of Minnesota APIC chapter #18.
She has been recognized for her leadership in infection prevention and was awarded with the 2006 Minnesota Distinguished Service Award and 2007 National Chapter Leadership Award.
Ms. Farber also serves as an infection preventionist with Mercy Community Hospital in Coons Rapids, Minn. Ms. Farber has been working in infection prevention and control in both long-term and acute-care facilities for more than 30 years.
