1. Lisa A. Austin, RN, CASC. Ms. Austin serves as vice president of ASC operations for Pinnacle III. She has developed numerous ASCs, working with investors, corporations, hospitals, architects, builders and equipment manufactures/distributors through all phases of development and management. She has been an RN for more than 27 years and worked in ambulatory care for the majority of those years. She is president of the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and is currently chairing the committee on Emergency Preparedness Plan for ASCs in Colorado.

2. Scott Becker, JD, CPA. Mr. Becker is a partner at McGuireWoods in Chicago. He provides counsel to hospitals, ASCs, surgical hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, single- and multi-specialty medical practices and a variety of healthcare industry entrepreneurs. Mr. Becker is also the publisher of Becker's ASC Review, Becker's Hospital Review and Becker's Orthopedic & Spine Review.

3. Cristina Bentin, CCS-P, CPC-H, CMA. Ms. Bentin is a principal and the founder of Coding Compliance Management, a consulting company specializing in coding support, reimbursement and training for ASCs and specialty hospitals. She is nationally recognized as a leading freestanding ASC coding educator, speaker and writer with more than 19 years of hands-on experience in ASC multi-specialty surgical coding as well as physician office coding.

4. Aaron Bergman. Mr. Bergman has taught golf lessons in nine countries, including the Kingdom of Bhutan, where he worked with the Prince of Bhutan on his golf game. Mr. Bergman earned his golf management degree from New Mexico State University and holds a Class A Professional PGA certification. He currently teaches at Northmoor Country Club outside Chicago and is a student of PGA Hall of Fame instructor Manuel de la Torre.

5. Chris Bishop. Mr. Bishop is senior vice president of acquisitions and business development for Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners. He previously served as vice president of business development for Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. He has 15 years of experience in leadership roles in the medical device and surgery center industries and was responsible for developing Smith & Nephew Endoscopy's surgery center sales team and strategy.

6. Jeff Blankinship. Mr. Blankinship is the CEO and president of Surgical Notes, which provides transcription services to more than 450 surgery centers and 6,500 physicians in 42 states. Under his leadership, Surgical Notes has partnered with several large ASC development and management companies and leading surgeons throughout the United States.

7. Dotty Bollinger, RN, JD, CASC. Ms. Bollinger serves as chief medical operations officer for Laser Spine Institute. In her current position, she is responsible for overseeing medical operations at LSI, ensuring patient flow, emphasizing patient satisfaction, maintaining a corporate-wide "culture of quality" campaign, implementing and approving the company's risk management team and officers and maintaining the healthcare licensing process, among other duties. Ms. Bollinger holds a JD from the University of South Dakota School of Law and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2000.

8. Thomas Bombardier, MD, FACS. Dr. Bombardier is an ophthalmologist and one of the three founding principals of Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. Prior to founding ASCOA, he established the largest ophthalmic practice in Western Massachusetts, two ASCs and a regional referral center. Over the past 17 years, he has been a real estate developer in Cape Cod, Mass.

9. Brian Brown. Mr. Brown is regional vice president of operations for Meridian Surgical Partners. He has nine years of experience in the healthcare industry, all of them with ASC companies. He previously held positions with Symbion Healthcare and Surgis (now United Surgical Partners International). Mr. Brown also worked for over six years in public accounting, four of those at Deloite.

10. Aric Burke. Mr. Burke serves as director of development at Health Inventures, a position he has held since June 2003. Prior to joining Health Inventures, he worked as a staff accountant at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Burke holds an MS in accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder – Leeds School of Business.

11. Robert Carrera. Mr. Carrera is president of Pinnacle III. He has spent the last 15 years developing and managing ASCs, physical/occupational rehabilitation centers, diagnostic imaging facilities and occupational medicine clinics in a multi-state region maintaining responsibility for over $150 million in annual revenue. Mr. Carrera has been active legislatively at the state level for issues affecting ASCs in Colorado, Minnesota and Utah. He was also a founding member of the Colorado ASC Association and formerly service as its vice president.

12. John Caruso, MD. Dr. Caruso has more than 16 years of neurological surgery experience. Since completing residencies at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine and the University of New Mexico, he has been in private practice with Neurosurgical Specialists in Hagerstown, Md.

13. John Cherf, MD. Dr. Cherf is an orthopedic surgeon, president of the Chicago Institute of Orthopedics, president of OrthoIndex and clinical advisor to Sg2. He has more than 20 years of clinical experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. He co-founded the orthopedic department at the Neurological & Orthopedic Institute of Chicago and founder of Midwest Orthopedic Institute in Eastern Indiana.

14. Thomas J. Chirillo. Mr. Chirillo is senior vice president of corporate development at NovaMed, where he is responsible for sourcing, negotiation and closing acquisitions. Prior to joining NovaMed in 1996, Mr. Chirillo spent 17 years in the healthcare industry with Becton Dickinson, CILCO, Ioptex and Guidant Corporation with more than 13 of those years spent exclusively in eye care.

15. Jeffrey C. Clark, JD. Mr. Clark, partner with McGuireWoods, concentrates his practice in various areas of complex commercial litigation, with his primary emphasis in healthcare litigation. He has represented healthcare and other clients across the country in issues involving managed care, contract law, covenants not to compete, trade secrets, injunctive relief, fraud and other issues.

16. Brian Cole, MD. Dr. Cole is the head of the cartilage restoration center, a multidisciplinary program specializing in the restoration of articular cartilage and meniscal deficiency, and a professor in the department of orthopedics at Rush University in Chicago. He has a professional interest in arthroscopic reconstruction of the patient's shoulder, elbow and knee.

17. R. Blake Curd, MD. Dr. Curd is chairman of the board of directors of Surgical Management Professionals. He is an active proponent of physician ownership in healthcare and serves as a director for Physician Hospitals of America and is manager for Medical Facilities Corp., which promotes physician ownership of healthcare facilities through partnerships.

18. Gregory P. DeConciliis.
Mr. DeConciliis is the administrator of Boston Out-Patient Surgical Suites in Waltham, Mass. The multi-specialty center opened in 2004 and will soon complete its 26,000th case. Mr. DeConciliis continues to be active as a physician assistant, still scrubbing in on complex cases each week and providing care to the Boston Celtics at their in-house training facility.  

19. Joyce (Deno) Thomas, RN. Ms. Thomas is the COO of the eastern region of Regent Surgical Health. She has 32 years of experience in the healthcare industry and currently provides education for nursing directors of Regent centers. She previously served as executive director of Loveland (Colo.) Surgery Center and regional director of quality improvement at HealthSouth.

20. John DiPaola, MD. Dr. DiPaola is an orthopedic surgeon and occupational orthopedist who originally built his Swan Island, Ore., clinic to exclusively serve injured workers. He opened his solo practice in 2000 after being attached to a group of orthopedic surgeons and decided to focus on workers with orthopedic injuries. Dr. DiPaola is affiliated with the Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Oregon Association of Orthopedists. His practice is now known as Occupational Orthopedics and consists of one location in Swan Island and one in Tualatin, Ore.

21. Mike Ditka. Mr. Ditka, a Pro Football Hall of Fame player and Super Bowl-winning coach, joined ESPN as a NFL analyst in 2004. He is only the second person to win the Super Bowl as a player (Dallas, 1972), assistant coach (Dallas, 1977) and head coach (Chicago, 1986). In addition to broadcasting, Mr. Ditka owns and operates Ditka’s restaurants and generously devotes himself to varied charitable endeavors, including Misericordia, a residential facility for mentally and physically challenged youths.

22. Scott P. Downing, JD. Mr. Downing is a partner with McGuireWoods in Chicago. He has a professional focus on structuring issues for healthcare companies, including joint ventures with providers or non-provider third parties. He also has experience assisting ancillary service providers with healthcare regulatory and corporate needs.

23. Nancy Easley-Mack. Ms. Easley-Mack serves as the business office manager of Short Hills Surgery Center, one of the largest freestanding ASCs in New Jersey. The center features six major operating rooms, two minor operating rooms and 24 beds, and the center's more than 70 physician partners specialize in orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, gynecology, urology, pain management and others.

24. Christian Ellison. Mr. Ellison is the vice president of business development for Health Inventures. He has formed numerous physician/hospital joint-venture partnerships and been instrumental in building Health Inventures' business domestically and internationally during his more than 10 years with the company. Mr. Ellison was previously a senior consultant to the healthcare industry with Arthur Andersen.

25.    Allan Fine. Mr. Fine is senior vice president, chief strategy and operations officer for The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City, the oldest specialty hospital in the country. Prior to his current position, Mr. Fine served as managing director at Healthios, as director in the life sciences and healthcare practice at Navigant Consulting, as senior manager in the healthcare practice of Ernst & Young and as vice president at Quorum Health Resources.

26. David Fitzgerald.
Mr. Fitzgerald is the CEO of Proliance Surgeons. He has more than 16 years of experience in healthcare, particularly in the finance arena, as well as experience as an administrator and CFO-level leadership positions for physician practices. Mr. Fitzgerald received his MBA from the University of Utah.

27. Joe Flower. With more than 30 years experience in healthcare, Mr. Flower has emerged as a premier observer and thought leader on the forces changing healthcare in the United States. Mr. Flower works as a healthcare speaker, writer and consultant and has explored the future of healthcare with clients ranging from the World Health Organization, the Global Business Network and the U.K. National Health Service. He has also been a consultant on charge and the future with the U.S. Department of Defense, Airbus and ArianeSpace.

28. Robin Fowler, MD. Dr. Fowler is the medical director of the Interventional Spine and Pain Management Center in Conyers, Ga., and an active staff member at Newton and Rockdale Medical Centers. He is also the founder and medical director of Interventional Management Services, a management company for surgical centers from New Mexico to Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, National Pain Foundation, American Pain Society and American Society of Anesthesia.

29. Brandon Frazier. Mr. Frazier is vice president of acquisitions and development at Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America, where he works with hospital executives on joint ventures and identifies opportunities to increase profitability and market share through partnerships. Before joining ASCOA, Mr. Frazier served Smith & Nephew in a leadership position that was exclusively focused on ASCs.

30. Jim Freund. Jim Freund is senior vice president of business development at GENASCIS, a provider of outsourced revenue cycle management services. Mr. Freund has more than 20 years of experience working in the ASC market, primarily as a principal leading sales and strategic planning for some of the leading software firms in the industry, including SourceMedical, Temple, HIS and SIS.

31. Nap Gary.
Mr. Gary is COO of Regent Surgical Health, where he oversees all operations and physician relations at Regent centers. Mr. Gary has worked within the healthcare industry for 23 years and served as senior vice president and assistant corporate counsel for HealthSouth Corp. Mr. Gary currently serves as vice-chair of the board of directors of the ASC Association.

32. Ann Geier, MS, RN, CNOR, CASC. Ms. Geier is senior vice president of operations at Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. She has served as a board member for numerous professional organizations, including American Association of Ambulatory Surgical Centers and Ambulatory Surgical Foundation, and represents ASCOA on the ASC Quality Collaboration Expert Group, which sets standards for national quality of care benchmarking.

33. Scott Gibbs, MD. Dr. Gibbs is the founder of the Brain and NeuroSpine Clinic of Missouri and also serves as director of the Southeast Missouri Hospital's Brain and Spine Center, both located in Cape Girardeau, Mo. In addition to serving on the medical staff at Saint Francis Medical Center, he founded the International Brain Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at brain awareness.

34. Bill Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert is vice president of marketing for AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions, where he leads product management for one of the nation's leading ASC and physician billing companies. AdvantEdge has more than tripled in size during Mr. Gilbert's tenure. He has previously served in leadership roles at several high-tech companies.

35. Elaine L. Gilmer. Ms. Gilmer is an associate with McGuireWoods in Chicago. She has a focus on corporate services and regulatory matters for healthcare companies. She has assisted in negotiations for operating agreements, asset purchasing agreements and medical director agreements.

36. Scott Glaser, MD. Dr. Glaser is a director on the national board of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, where he has also served as vice president. He is a diplomate with the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. During his career, Dr. Glaser has been involved in lobbying for the passage of the NASPER bill fighting prescription drug abuse.

37. Susan Glendon-Beaulieu, RN, LHRM. Ms. Glendon-Beaulieu is the administrator at the Surgical Center for Excellence in Panama City, Fla. Surgical Center for Excellence, under the direction of ASD management. She is an expert in surgery center operations, regulatory compliance and risk management with more than 20 years of direct experience as a surgery center administrator for single-specialty, multi-specialty and hospital-based centers.   [

38. John Goehle. Mr. Goehle is the COO of Ambulatory Healthcare Strategies. With nearly 20 years of ambulatory surgery experience, he is a nationally recognized leader in the ASC industry. He is a frequent speaker at ASC conferences and has written four books about ASCs. Mr. Goehle founded AHS in 2009 with Vito Quatela, MD.

39. Brett Gosney. Mr. Gosney is a founder, partner and CEO of Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, Colo., the first physician-owned hospital in the state focused on surgical care and diagnostic imaging. He is also director of development for Symbion. Mr. Gosney has diverse background in healthcare, spanning more than 28 years. He is currently president elect/vice president of the board of directors for Physician Hospitals of America.  

40. Raymond E. Grundman, MSN, MPA. Mr. Grundman is the senior director of external relations at the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. He served as a previous AAAHC president and has been an ASC surveyor since he joined AAAHC in 1996. In 1998, he was appointed to the AAAHC board of directors, where he served for 12 years. During his time as president of the board, he was dubbed the "education president" after he advocated a core curriculum and additional resources for surveyor training and education.

41. Nameer Haider, MD. Dr. Haider is a pain management physician with Spinal & Skeletal Pain Medicine in Utica, N.Y. Dr. Haider has training in the most advanced techniques in pain treatment, including minimally invasive spinal surgery and laser disc surgery. Dr. Haider is also medical director of Sitrin Medical Rehabilitation Center in New Hartford, N.Y., and partner of the outpatient pain practice Advanced Physician Medicine & Rehabilitation in Utica, N.Y.

42. Jon Hamrick. Mr. Hamrick is executive vice president of business development for Access MediQuip. He has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. He leads the company's business development efforts, focusing on manufacturer relationships and corporate development. Mr. Hamrick has extensive experience in sales, account management and business development, and served as vice president for pharmaceutical sales and account management at Express Script's subsidiary, CuraScript, prior to joining Access MediQuip in 2006.

43. Kenneth N. Hancock. Mr. Hancock is the president and chief development officer for Meridian Surgical Partners. He has 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry developing ASCs and surgical hospitals. He is the former executive vice president, chief development officer and co-founder of Surgical Alliance Corp. Prior to Surgical Alliance, Mr. Hancock was a co-founder of OrthoLink Physicians Corp., which was acquired by United Surgical Partners International.

44. Andrew Hayek. Mr. Hayek is the president and CEO and a member of the board of directors for Surgical Care Affiliates. He also serves on the board of directors of Senior Home Care. He previously served as president of a division of DaVita and president and COO of Alliance Healthcare Services.

45. Edward P. Hetrick. Mr. Hetrick is founder, president and COO of Facility Development and Management in Orangeburg, N.Y. He has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has been involved in the development of more than 50 ASCs. He previously served as vice president of a reimbursement and consulting firm and has held management positions at major New York teaching institutions.

46. Bo Hjorth. Mr. Hjorth is vice president of business development for Regent Surgical Health. He has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, with the last 12 years in the surgery center space. Prior to joining Regent, Mr. Hjorth served as vice president of development for Community Care before moving to vice president of operations where he was responsible for the leadership, strategy and performance of three ASCs in Indiana and Maryland.

47. Tracy Hoeft-Hoffman, RN. Ms. Hoeft-Hoffman is the administrator at Hastings (Neb.) Surgical Center, an ASC managed by Nueterra Healthcare. Ms. Hoeft-Hoffman received her MBA in healthcare administration from the University of Dallas and earned her MSN in nursing administration from Clarkson College in Omaha, Neb.

48. Richard Hynes, MD. Dr. Hynes is a spine surgeon who has been serving as president of The B.A.C.K. Center in Melbourne, Fla. since 1996. The B.A.C.K. Center originates from the Brevard Orthopaedic Clinic, which was founded in 1981 by Glenn Bryan, MD. The clinic shifted its focus to treatment of the neck and spine with the addition of Dr. Hynes in 1992.

49. Tom Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs is co-founder, president and CEO of MedHQ. His responsibilities include human resources outsourcing, management accounting, administrative and credentialing support to ASCs, hospitals, physician practices and other healthcare businesses. He is also administrator of EndoLabs and previously worked in management positions at Duke Engineering & Services.

50. Marion Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins is founder and CEO of QSE Technologies, an IT systems integrator in Denver. He has authored more than 50 articles and presentations on the role of technology in business, and serves on the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization Technology Advisory Committee. He previously served in leadership positions with a variety of high-growth technology companies.

51. Sandra Jones. Ms. Jones is the executive vice president of ASD Management. She has served on the board of the ASC Association. She has 30 years of experience in healthcare and has overseen or contributed to the successful establishment and development of more than 75 ASCs nationwide. Ms. Jones is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a diplomat of the American Board of Utilization Review and Quality Assurance Physicians.

52. W. Michael Karnes. Mr. Karnes is the CFO and co-founder of Regent Surgical Health. He recently served as chief administrative officer of GTCR-Golder Rauner, one of the nation's largest and oldest venture capital firms. He also has been CFO for Prime Group Realty Trust and Balcor, a subsidiary of American Express. He holds a BS in accounting from the University of Maryland, a BBA-Finance degree from University of Notre Dame and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.

53. Stuart Katz. Mr. Katz has been executive director of the Tucson (Ariz.) Orthopaedic Surgery Center for the past 40 years. In addition to his work with Tucson Orthopaedic, Mr. Katz was the founding president of the Arizona Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, for which he served as president for three years and now serves as vice president.

54. Naya Kehayes, MPH. Ms. Kehayes is the founder and managing member of Eveia Health Consulting & Management. She is a national speaker on contracting and reimbursement and serves as a managed care advisor to ASC corporations. She previously served as regional director of operations and managed care for National Surgery Centers and was a surgical hospital administrator with Columbia/HCA Healthcare.

55. William J. L. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy serves as senior vice president of business development of NovaMed. He is responsible for strategic development projects and oversees the due diligence and acquisition analysis unit. He previously served as a regional manager of CIT Group/Business Credit, and he also founded his own firm specializing in consulting and investing in middle-market companies.

56. Paul Kerens. Mr. Kerens is the senior executive officer at Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute in Leawood, Kan. The institute is Kansas City's first and only orthopedic specialty hospital. With more than 20 physicians on staff, Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute offers treatment of the spine, sports medicine, hand, foot and total joint reconstruction.

57. R. Matthew Kilton. Mr. Kilton is the principal and chief operating officer of Eveia Health Consulting & Management. He has experience in negotiating managed care contracts for ASCs and surgical practices, and has spoken nationally on the subject. He previously served as CEO of Valley Orthopedic Associates, in management roles at Poudre Valley Health System and administrator at Northern Colorado Surgical Associates.

58.    Greg Koonsman, CFA. Mr. Koonsman is a senior partner and founder of VMG Health. He specializes in valuation, transaction advisory, feasibility and operational consulting services. Mr. Koonsman has acted as an advisor in more than 250 hospital, 1,000 surgery center, 30 HMO and 1,500 physician organization transactions and a variety of other U.S. healthcare entities. He previously was founder and served as director of Practice Performance, a physician management organization providing outsourced business management services, and was with the financial advisory group of Ernst & Young.

59. Richard Kube, MD. Dr. Kube is the CEO, founder and owner of Prairie Spine & Pain Institute in Peoria, Ill. He is also currently affiliated with four hospitals in southern Illinois and is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He has presented or lectured at professional seminars in South Korea, Canada, Germany and Hungary, among other locations.

60. Vishal Lal. Mr. Lal is the CEO of Advanced Pain Management, based outside of Milwaukee. Founded in 1998, APM is the largest pain group in the United States, with 28 physicians and almost 300 employees working at 11 pain centers in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

61. Brent W. Lambert, MD, FACS. Dr. Lambert is the principal and founder of Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Lambert is currently responsible for business development at ASCOA. Prior to its founding, Dr. Lambert was the developer and owner of three ASCs, including the first eye ASC in New England.

62. Luke M. Lambert, MBA. Mr. Lambert is the CEO of ASCOA. He has a background in finance, strategy and operations. His previous experience includes work with Smith Barney and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He has consulted with entities to start new ventures, enter into new markets and reengineer business processes.

63. Diane Lampron, RN, BSN, CNOR. Ms. Lampron is the administrator and director of operations at Lutheran Campus ASC in Wheat Ridge, Colo.

64. Linda Lansing. Ms. Lansing is senior vice president of clinical services for Surgical Care Affiliates. She serves as part of the Expert Group for the ASC Quality Collaboration.

65. Matt Lau, CPA. Mr. Lau is corporate controller for Regent Surgical Health. He has 14 years of finance and accounting experience. Prior to joining Regent, Mr. Lau held positions with Paincare America and Option Care. He is a certified public accountant and earned his BS in accountancy from Northern Illinois University. He received his MBA from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

66. Jeff Leland. Mr. Leland is managing partner with Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners, based in Cincinnati. He was previously with ASCOA and responsible for de novo surgical center development and surgical center management. He has also served as executive director of Lutheran General Medical Group and as a senior level executive with Advocate Health Care, both in Chicago.

67. Michael J. Lipomi. Mr. Lipomi is president and CEO of Surgical Management Professionals in Sioux Falls, S.D. He has spent the past 30 years developing and running ambulatory surgery centers and acute care hospitals. He previously served as president of RMC MedStone and CEO of Stanislaus Surgical Hospital in Modesto, Calif.

68. Todd Logan. Mr. Logan is regional vice president of sales with the SourceMedical surgery division in Wallingford, Conn. He more than 10 years of experience with surgery information system solutions and has served in several roles, including product development and implementation. He has expertise in maximizing profitability and improving inventory management in the surgical environment.

69. James Lynch, MD. Dr. Lynch is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon and board-certified neurosurgeon and founder of SpineNevada in Reno. He also serves as chairman and director of spine programs at Surgery Center of Reno, and regularly lectures on outpatient spine surgery. He has a professional interest in complex spine surgery, spinal deformities, trauma and minimally invasive surgery.

70.  Thomas Mallon. Mr. Mallon is a co-founder and CEO of Regent Surgical Health, which specializes in working with physician and hospital partners in the development, management and turnaround of surgery centers and specialty hospitals. Before founding Regent, he served as a founding member and remains a general partner with Gryffindor Capital Partners, a Chicago-based venture-capital fund. He earned a BA from Denison University and his MBA from the Harvard Business School.

71. John A. Marasco, AIA, NCARB. Mr. Marasco is principal and owner of Marasco & Associates, a healthcare architecture and consulting firm. He is registered to practice architecture in 48 states and lectures across the country on the design and development of healthcare facilities. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

72. Dennis Martin. Mr. Martin is the senior vice president of client services and network development with Health Inventures, a company he founded. He has a focus on organizing and solving complex problems, team building and project management. He previously served as vice president of development for Surgical Partners of America and as an architect and designer with Samborn, Stekette, Otis & Evans.

73. Sarah Martin, MBA, CASC. Ms. Martin is vice president of operations for Meridian Surgical Partners. She has close to 30 years of healthcare experience, focusing in the ambulatory surgery area for the past 13 years. Prior to joining Meridian, Ms. Martin was the regional director of ASCs for Universal Health Services where she managed both ASCs and specialty hospitals. She presently serves on the board of the Ambulatory Surgery Foundation.

74. Bryan Massoud, MD. Dr. Massoud is founder and head surgeon at Spine Centers of America in Fair Lawn, N.J. He received training at Texas Back Institute in Plano, and has performed more than 1,000 endoscopic spine surgeries, including endoscopic cervical spine surgery. He also trains spine surgeons in endoscopic procedures, and articles he has authored on the subject are published in professional journals.

75. Michael McKevitt. Mr. McKevitt is senior vice president of business development for Regent Surgical Health. He has 20 years of senior management experience in developing ASCs and physician-focused, acute care hospitals. Throughout his career, Mr. McKevitt has developed and successfully syndicated more than 25 joint ventures that collectively represent approximately 650 physician partners and 15 healthcare organizations. Prior to joining Regent, he held positions with Ingalls Health System and University of Chicago Health System's Chicago Partners.

76. Todd Mello. Mr. Mello is partner and co-founder of Healthcare Appraisers in Castle Rock, Colo. He has more than 20 years in healthcare finance and valuation. He previously served as vice president of business development for a neuro-musculoskeletal physician management company.

77. Evelyn S. Miller, CPA. Ms. Miller is vice president of development at United Surgical Partners International, where she is responsible for the strategic direction of USPI's mergers and acquisition efforts. A certified public accountant, Ms. Miller began her career in healthcare as the system controller at All Saints Health System in Fort Worth, Texas, which is now part of Baylor Health Care System.

78. Amy Mowles. Ms. Mowles is the president and CEO of Mowles Medical Practice Management, a company dedicated to assisting pain management and other specialists develop practices and ASCs. She has experience with beginning new ventures and marketing physician practices and ASCs. She regularly speaks at society meetings and has published articles in professional journals.

79. Nelson Mozia, MD. Dr. Mozia practices pediatric surgery, general surgery and colon and rectal surgery with Lutheran Campus ASC in Wheat Ridge, Colo.  

80. Chase Neal. Mr. Neal is vice president of The Securities Group in Memphis, Tenn., which offers consulting services in partnerships between physicians and hospitals, including joint ventures. He is licensed as a limited principal, securities representative and uniform securities agent.

81. Robert Nucci, MD. Dr. Nucci is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon and founder of Nucci Spine & Orthopedics Institute in Tampa, Fla. He helped develop and implement minimally invasive surgical techniques and serves as an international speaker on spine surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

82. Joan F. O'Shea, MD. Dr. O'Shea is a dually trained neurosurgeon and spine surgeon and founder of The Spine Institute of Southern New Jersey in Marlton. She has published several papers on treatments for patients suffering from spinal cancers and complex spinal disorders. She has been an invited lecturer for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and is a member of the North American Spine Society and Women in Neurosurgery.

83. Jon O'Sullivan, CPA. Mr. O'Sullivan is a senior principal and founding member of VMG Health. He has experience in transactional advisory services in the healthcare market, financial valuation and joint ventures. He previously founded PracticeTech, a provider of network technology solutions and support within the healthcare industry.

84. Ron Pelletier. Mr. Pelletier is vice president of market strategy for SourceMedical. He has experience in the operational and design aspects of technology systems for outpatient surgery. He has helped several facility operators select and implement systems and design procedures and protocols for better returns of on system investments.

85. Kenneth A. Pettine, MD. Dr. Pettine is the founder of The Spine Institute and Loveland (Colo.) Surgery Center. He has a background in spine surgery, research and rehabilitation and is a co-inventor and co-designer of the Maverick Artificial Disc. He has also served as principal investigator for numerous FDA studies involving non-fusion spine technology.

86. David J. Pivnick, JD. Mr. Pivnick is an associate with McGuireWoods in Chicago. He has a professional focus on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on healthcare litigations. His experience includes representing and advising healthcare and other clients on several matters, including contract law, False Claims Act and partnership disputes.

87. Greg Poulter, MD. Dr. Poulter is a spine surgeon at Vail (Colo.) Summit Orthopaedics. He completed a spine fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and the University of California San Francisco. He was among the first surgeons to perform minimally invasive spinal fusion.

88. William Prentice, JD. Mr. Prentice is the executive director of the ASC Association and Ambulatory Surgery Foundation. He previously served as senior vice president and public affairs at the American Dental Association and vice president of a New Jersey public affairs firm. He has more than 17 years of experience working with healthcare organizations.

89. Peggy Price, RN, MA. Ms. Price is vice president and chief operating officer of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Lafayette, Colo. Before joining Exempla, Ms. Price served as the president and CEO of North Suburban Medical Center in Denver and as COO from 1996 to 2004. Ms. Price also practiced as a nurse at Denver Health, University of Colorado Hospital, and at Roswell Park Memorial in Buffalo, N.Y.

90. David J. Raab, MD. Dr. Raab is on the board of managers at the Illinois Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery Center and is a fellowship-trained sports medicine physician with Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Morton Grove. His professional interests include total joint replacement, arthroscopy and pediatric orthopedics. He also serves as an assistant professor at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.

91. Holly Ramey. Ms. Ramey serves as group vice president of acquisition integration and physician relations for Surgical Care Affiliates.  She also leads SCA’s national physician leadership team, which is comprised of 15 physicians across the country focused on partnering with regional leaders and improving clinical quality, teammate satisfaction, physician satisfaction and distribution growth in SCA centers. Ms. Ramey previously served as an administrator for Emerald Coast Surgery Center in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and as a regional vice president for the Southeast region of SCA.

 

92. Michael Redler, MD. Dr. Redler is a founding partner of OSM The Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center in Fairfield, Conn. He is a fellowship-trained sports medicine and hand surgeon. He also serves as the orthopedic consultant to Major League Lacrosse and is a professor of physical therapy and athletic trainers at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

93. Blair A. Rhode, MD. Dr. Rhode is a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon with Orland Park (Ill.) Orthopedics. He has special interest in the treatment of foot, ankle, knee and shoulder conditions and specializes in anthroscopic surgery. Dr. Rhode completed a fellowship in sports medicine/knee and shoulder reconstruction at the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine.

94. Michael Rucker. Mr. Rucker is the executive vice president and COO for Surgical Care Affiliates. He has experience working with physician practice management and public accounting. He previously served as vice president of DaVita, and as an associate in the healthcare group of Houlihan Lokey.

95. Cathy Rudisill, RN, MHA, CNOR, CASC, BSN. Ms. Rudisill is a senior vice president of operations with Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America with extensive experience in that perioperative setting. Prior to joining ASCOA, Ms. Rudisill worked as a market manager for the HealthSouth Corp. and as executive director for the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System Surgery Center.

96. Harwood "Woody" Runner. Mr. Runner has been CEO of Kerlan-Jobe since 2004. Between 2003 and 2006, Mr. Runner was acting CEO of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. He also represents investors in the governance of Sovereign Healthcare, a developer and operator of surgery centers and specialty surgery hospitals.

97. Scott Safriet, AVA, MBA. Mr. Safriet is a principal of HealthCare Appraisers. He has more than 15 years of broad healthcare experience, with a recent focus on healthcare valuation in addressing any type of compensation agreement which may have Stark and/or anti-kickback implications. He previously served as vice president of sales and business development for a national in-home care serves organization and senior executive with a national healthcare consulting firm.

98. Matthew D. Saltzman. Dr. Saltzman is an assistant professor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Saltzman went to Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and received fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at University of Washington in Seattle.

99. Paul E. Savoca, MD, FACS, FASCRS. Dr. Savoca is a staff colon and rectal surgeon with Fairfax Colon and Rectal Surgery at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va. He is on the faculty of the department of surgery at Georgetown University Medical School. Dr. Savoca's medical specialties include minimally invasive or laparoscopic colon surgery.

100. Robert M. Schwartz, JD. Mr. Schwartz is managing director of strategic resources with Proliance Surgeons. He is a former senior administrator at Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital and former senior vice president of American Medical Response. With a background in government, he served as a city administrator upon graduating from Rutgers School of Law and then served as chief of staff for Senator Joe Lieberman when Mr. Lieberman was state senate majority leader in the Connecticut State Legislature.

101. Matt Searles. Mr. Searles is managing partner of Merritt Healthcare, which is focused on providing tailored, comprehensive business management, surgical center development and financial services to physicians and healthcare institutions. Mr. Searles earned his MBA from Duke University.

102. Caryl Serbin, RN, BSN, LHRN. Ms. Serbin is executive vice president and chief strategy officer for SourceMedical. Ms. Serbin was the founder and CEO of Serbin Surgery Center Billing, which was recently purchased by SourceMedical to headstart their newly developed billing division, Revenue Cycle Solutions. She has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with the last 18 years spent in ambulatory surgery administration and consulting. She presents extensively at ASC national seminars and has authored numerous articles on reimbursement and related topics.

103. David Shapiro, MD. Dr. Shapiro is an anesthesiologist and chair of the board of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and the Ambulatory Surgical Foundation. He is a partner in the Ambulatory Surgery Company. He also serves as medical director and board member of several ASCs. He also serves as an AAAHC surveyor, certified professional in health risk management and is licensed in health risk management by the state of Florida.

104. Jeffrey Simmons. Mr. Simmons is the chief development officer for the Regent Surgical Health acquisition and developmental efforts. He has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, and he serves on the Regent Board of Directors. He previously served as vice president of marketing for American Medical International, CEO of two specialty hospitals and founder and CEO of Immune Suppressed Institute.

105. Cassandra Speier. Ms. Speier is senior vice president of operations for NovaMed. Prior to joining NovaMed, Ms. Speier served as senior vice president for Symbion Healthcare. She has also served in senior management positions for Vision America, Medcath, Medivision and Medical International.

106. Kenny Spitler. Mr. Spitler is chief development officer of International Mangement Services, where he oversees development activities for the company, including syndications and acquisitions. Prior to his role with IMS, Mr. Spitler served as senior vice president of development for HealthMark Partners. Mr. Spitler has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare business development.

107. Marshall Steele, MD. Dr. Steele is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, founder and CEO of Marshall | Steele, a firm that implements musculoskeletal service lines and programs in hospitals. Dr. Steele is the author of Orthopedics and Spine, Service Line Strategies for Superior Performance, his most recent publication.  

108. Troy P. Stockman.
Mr. Stockman is the CEO of Nebraska Spine Hospital. He has held leadership positions within the fields of diagnostic imaging, surgery imaging and radiology for the U.S. Army. Mr. Stockman has also served as president and held other elective offices with the Iowa Society of Radiologic Technologists and Southwest Iowa Radiology Technologists Society.

109. Kevin Stone, MD. Dr. Stone is an orthopedic surgeon at The Stone Clinic and chairman of the Stone Research Foundation, both in San Francisco. Dr. Stone holds more than 50 U.S. patents on healthcare products and is co-founder of ReGen Biologics, a publicly traded medical device company focused on meniscus regeneration. Dr. Stone has served as a physician for the U.S. Ski Team, the U.S. Pro Ski Tour, Marin Ballet and various other professional organizations.

110. Michael Stroup. Mr. Stroup is vice president of development for United Surgical Partners International, a leader in the ASC and short-stay hospital industry in the United States and London. More than 6,500 surgeons have used USPI facilities this year, and it has partnered with more than 2,800 individual surgeons in the ownership of surgical facilities.

111. Melissa Szabad, JD. A partner with the healthcare practice of McGuireWoods, Ms. Szabad counsels and advises clients on a variety of corporate and regulatory matters, including healthcare fraud and abuse, compliance, physician self-referral, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and governmental reimbursement.

112. Vivek Taparia. Mr. Taparia is director of business development for Regent Surgical Health. He performs due diligence on Regent's new business opportunities and leads strategic initiatives for Regent centers. Prior to joining Regent, Mr. Taparia developed marketing strategies for a multi-million dollar surgical product line for Johnson & Johnson. He also advised healthcare corporations on a variety of corporate finance issues while at the investment bank of JP Morgan.

113. Larry D. Taylor. Mr. Taylor is the president and CEO of Practice Partners in Healthcare. He has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare delivery, management and physician relations. He previously served as president and COO of a large provider of ASCs, while his initial entry into healthcare was focused on the delivery of sports medicine and orthopedics.

114. Marsha Thiel. Ms. Thiel has been CEO of Medical Advanced Pain Specialists, a Minneapolis-based practice that specializes in care for chronic pain patients with nine locations, since 1997. Prior to her role with Medical Advanced Pain Specialists, Ms. Thiel held management positions with North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn.

115. William Tobler, MD. Dr. Tobler is a neurological surgeon and president and director of neurosurgery at The Christ Hospital Spine Surgery Center in Cincinnati. He earned his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including North American Spine Society and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

116. Michelle Trammell. Ms. Trammell is president of The Securities Group, which is a privately held broker/dealer firm specializing in healthcare partnerships with physicians. TSG has raised more than $100,000,000 having syndicated over 200 healthcare projects including whole hospital exemptions, ASCs, surgical hospitals and others.

117. Gretchen Heinze Townshend, JD. Ms. Townshend is an associate with the healthcare practice of McGuireWoods in Chicago. She represents a wide range of providers, including hospitals, health systems, single- and multi-specialty medical practices, specialty hospitals and ASCs. Ms. Townshend counsels clients on matters such as anti-kickback and Stark issues, self-referral, HIPAA and state and federal securities matters. 

118. Jeffrey L. Visotsky, MD, FACS. Dr. Visotsky is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute. 120. Jack Wagner. Mr. Wagner is president of Micro-Scientific Industries, which produces and distributes antimicrobial products. Micro-Scientific was established in 1996 and produces more than a dozen disinfectant products.

121. Barton C. Walker, JD. Mr. Walker is an associate with McGuireWoods in Chicago. He has a professional interest in working with mergers, acquisitions, sales, private offerings of securities and healthcare regulatory compliance. He has represented numerous lenders and borrowers in various healthcare-related financing transactions and regularly lectures and writes on legal and regulatory issues affecting healthcare providers and life sciences companies.

122. Amber McGraw Walsh, JD. Ms. Walsh is a partner with McGuireWoods in Chicago. She has a focus on corporate healthcare transactional work and regulatory matters. 125. Robert Welti, MD. Dr. Welti is the senior vice president of operations at Regent Surgical Health. He has experience in working with hospital-based surgery centers as well as physician-owned ASCs. He was previously the medical director and administrator of the Santa Barbara (Calif.) Surgery Center.

126. Kristian Werling, JD. Mr. Werling is an attorney at the McGuireWoods in Chicago. He has a concentration in corporate healthcare transactions and regulatory matters for healthcare and life sciences companies. Mr. Werling represents private equity and venture capital investors in healthcare and life sciences companies. In this capacity he works with cross-disciplinary teams to conduct legal due diligence and execute acquisitions, among many other duties.

127. Robert Westergard.
Mr. Westergard is the CFO of the Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. Prior to joining ASCOA. Mr. Westergard worked as the controller for Truman Capital Advisors. Mr. Westergard has an additional eight years of finance and accounting experience in the software, chemical and healthcare industries.

128. Marcus Williamson. Mr. Williamson serves as president of the NeoSpine Division within Symbion Healthcare. Mr. Williamson has more than 23 years of experience in surgical facilities, hospitals and ASCs and served as director of operations for AmSurg before joining NeoSpine. He has also served in director roles with Prudential Healthcare, Cigna, Focus HealthCare and United HealthCare, with a concentration in physician services, network development and executive-level contract negotiation.

129.David Wold. Ms. Ziegler is the administrator for the Physicians Surgical Center in Lebanon, Pa., a position she's held since April 2005. This year she added a second center to her scope of responsibilities — The Center for Specialized Surgery in Bethlehem, Pa. Ms. Ziegler has worked in almost every type of healthcare facility in her career but proclaims the ASC industry as her "professional love." She is active in the Pennsylvania Ambulatory Surgery Association as president-elect and legislative representative.

130. Terry Woodbeck. Mr. Woodbeck is CEO of Tulsa (Okla.) Spine and Specialty Hospital. He has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including physician practice management, clinic administration and research in the field of capitation rates and managed care contracting. He joined Tulsa Spine & Specialty Hospital after serving as CEO at Oklahoma Spine and Brain Institute for four years. Mr. Woodbeck also serves also a consultant for physicians or groups wishing to develop new hospital systems.

131. Robert Zasa, MSHHA, FACMPE. Mr. Zasa is the managing partner and founding partner of ASD Management. His career ASC development and management spans 40 years. Mr. Zasa founded Ambulatory Systems Development in 1996, and it grew to become one of the most reputable private ASC development firms in the country. It was reorganized as ASD Management in 2009. Bob is a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives, a nationally recognized speaker and author.

132. Monica M. Ziegler, CASC. Ms. Ziegler is the administrator for the Physicians Surgical Center in Lebanon, Pa., a position she's held since April 2005. 134. Chris Zorn. Chris Zorn is vice president at Spine Surgical Innovation, global distributor of the Swivel Port MIS System.
