Earlier this year, the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society worked with elected representatives to develop new legislation impacting healthcare and ASCs.
The new legislation creates methodology for out-of-network reimbursement claims. TASCS proposed closing the Texas Health Care Information Council, an organization formed 10 years ago to control costs and improve quality in healthcare, because it argued the Council did not meet their objective.
Additionally, TASCS proposed eliminating reporting requirements to the agency for ASCs. While TASCS supports the ability of ASCs to go out-of-network, the organization would like to establish more transparent reimbursement based on fair market value, according to a society news release.
