Electronic health records have boosted the market for speech recognition software, according to KLAS research group.
The group surveyed speech application popularity in three categories — speech electronic medical record, front-end speech imaging and back-end speech. They identified Nuance Dragon Medical, Dolbey and M*Modal as the most prevalent providers of such technology. The companies are also leaders in natural language processing
Though speech recognition technology is improving, it can still be a challenge for users, who need to properly train the applications to recognize users' voices.
