Study: Insurance Providers Lack Communication Skills

Health insurance providers need to reevaluate their billings and claim information approaches to more effectively communicate to customers, according to InsuranceNewsNet.

Pitney Bowes recently conducted research which showed patient age demographics represent variance in ways they like to receive payor communications.

Results showed 46 percent of respondents want to receive billing and claim information by physical mail, but 38 percent want information physically and digitally.

Older respondents were as interested in multi-channel communications as those under 35 years old.

More than 82 percent of those surveyed said they trust their insurance provider, including 96 percent of people 65 or older.
