Potential Downside of the ICD-10 Delay

The ICD-10 delay, officially signed into law, has elicited mixed reactions from healthcare stakeholders, ranging from relief to outrage. A significant number of providers have welcomed the extra time, but is there still a downside to the delay?

•    CMS promised no delays, but remains silent weeks after a delay was set in place
•    Those ready for ICD-10 made investments that will now not pay off until the new deadline
