New York University Langone Medical Center selected Accenture to help implement ICD-10.
Accenture will work to help the medical center implement the upgraded coding system with as little financial impact as possible. It will also perform dual coding of ICD-9 and ICD-10 for 12 months before the mandated Oct. 1, 2014 deadline.
NYU Langone representatives hope the partnership will help retain staff, upgrade the revenue cycle and eliminate erosions in coder productivity, according to the release.
