St. Louis-based National Medical Billing Services, a national healthcare revenue cycle management company specializing in services for ambulatory surgery centers and their affiliated surgeons, has named a new Senior Vice President, Operations.
Lewis Custer, an experienced revenue cycle operations professional and certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, will assume this new role on the company's senior leadership team. He will oversee National Medical's Lean Six Sigma deployment throughout the organization as well as launch and implement best practices in preparation for healthcare reform and ICD-10.
Mr. Custer previously served as the director of revenue cycle services for Quest Diagnostics for 13 years and was the senior director of contract administration for Mid Atlantic Medical Services, Inc. (now United Healthcare) for 10 years.
