Lack of details outlining Sen. Bernie Sander's healthcare proposal incites criticism: 5 arguments

A pillar of Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign includes his proposed $14 trillion single-payer healthcare system. However, experts shake their heads, noting the idea isn't realistic, according to The Washington Post.

Here are five arguments against Sen. Sanders' healthcare pan.

1. In essence, Sen. Sanders wants to socialize the healthcare industry, which ultimately lays claim to one-fifth of the national economy. Sen. Sanders continuously points to Europe's system as a successful example. However, experts assert no large free-market country has ever attempted what Sen. Sanders proposes.

2. The proposed healthcare system would force a tradeoff. Perhaps, a multitude of Americans would lose their healthcare jobs or payers would have to focus their efforts on the rich.

3. The healthcare system could destroy the federal budget and expose Americans to a substandard care system.

4. No certainty surrounds Sen. Sanders' proposed plan, partly due to the fact that he hasn't outlined many key details, such as how much compensation would physicians receive? Which medical bills would be covered?

5. Economists aren't assured his tax proposals would collect enough funds to fuel the additional spending.
