Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality will be examining the relationship between healthcare information technology and physician practice workflow, according to Government Health IT.
The AHRQ will be looking at six physician practices that are transitioning to patient-centered medical home care models. The organization plans to conduct interviews about electronic health record experiences to determine how to reduce the impact and disruption to workflow, according to the report.
The study plans to map physician practices, extract clinical data logs and audits, observe staff and form focus groups to decide how HIT can best work for practices.
