Coordinating a patient's care with primary care physicians and care teams helps reduce wasteful spending, according to Lightbeam Health Solutions Vice President Sean Henson.
Mr. Henson shared the following tip with Becker's ASC Review.
"Ensure that you code not only for the purpose of the ASC visit, such as a broken finger, but also review other chronic conditions and diagnoses that influence current care. Double-check coding to ensure that conditions that require more resources are aligned with available reimbursements from CMS, if applicable."
