CMS announced efforts to help providers get ready for the Oct. 1 implementation of ICD-10.
Here are five things to know:
1. CMS released the "Road to 10" resource, which is intended to be a one-stop shop for all issues related to ICD-10.
2. The resource is aimed specifically at smaller physician practices.
3. It includes primers for clinical documentation, clinical scenarios and other specialty-specific resources.
4. Additionally, CMS has released provider training videos.
5. Finally, CMS will name a CMS ICD-10 Ombudsman — at the request of the American Medical Association — to answer questions about the submission of claims.
