The American Medical Association has announced a contest for all U.S. physicians, residents and medical students to submit a unique iPhone application idea and have the chance to see it "come to life," according to an AMA release.
Participants can submit ideas through an online form until June 30, 2011. Two winners will be selected — one from the resident/fellow or medical student category and one from the physician category. The winners will each receive $2,500 in cash and prizes, as well as a trip for two to New Orleans for the grand unveiling of their winning idea at the Nov. 2011 AMA meeting.
The contest announcement follows the release of the AMA's first-ever app for physicians to quickly find CPT billing codes. The app is available for free through the iTunes store.
