ACOs to cover up to 176M patients by 2020 — 5 points

By 2020, accountable care organizations will cover between 105 million patients and 176 million patients, according to RevCycle Intelligence.

Here are five points:

1. CMS announced 232 new Medicare ACO participants earlier this year.

2. On April 26, McKesson and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona launched ACO Partner.

3. ACO Partner has plans to contract with provider groups and payers throughout the United States to lower costs and enhance quality of care.

4. Innovista Health Solutions partnered with East Texas Regional Accountable Care Collaborative in February 2016.

5. Additionally, in January 2016, Aledade partnered with the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians to help primary care physicians with value-based care.
