Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., has agreed to pay a $17,979 settlement to the Environmental Protection Agency to settle hazardous waste violations, according to a Wichita Business Journal report.
Agency regulators investigated the hospital in April 2010 and found an undisclosed number of violations, including failure to inspect, label and close hazardous waste containers, according to the report. In addition to paying the nearly $18,000 settlement, the hospital must also build a hazardous waste accumulation building on the premises.
