The FAQ addresses the question of, "Is it acceptable for physicians and licensed independent practitioners (and other practitioners allowed to write orders) to text orders for patients to the hospital or other healthcare setting?"

The FAQ is applicable to ambulatory care, behavioral health care, critical access hospital, disease-specific care, home care, hospital, laboratory services, long term care and office-based surgery programs.
