Mindray reveals NMT Module for Passport operating room monitors — 3 notes

Mindray revealed its new Neuromuscular Transmission Module for Passport operating room monitors at Anesthesiology 2017.

Here's what you should know:

1. The module is for Mindray's Passport 17m and 12m monitors.

2. The NMT Module provides a stimulus to a patient's hand nerves and measures the patient's response to the stimuli. Anesthesiologists can use the response to measure how relaxed a patient's muscles are under a neuromuscular blockade.

3. The module's information can be integrated onto a display or exported into an information system.

Mindray North America President Wayne Quinn said in a release, "Mindray has become a leader in the complete perioperative continuum with comprehensive monitoring solutions, anesthesia delivery systems, and point-of-care ultrasound. According to recent third-party market reports, Mindray now accounts for one of eight anesthesia machines delivered in the U.S."

Anesthesiology 2017 was Oct. 21 to Oct. 25 in Boston.
