Dr. Ralph Lydic Receives ASA Excellence in Research Award

The American Society of Anesthesiology has awarded Ralph Lydic, MD, of the University of Michigan Health System, the 2012 ASA Excellence in Research Award for his research related to anesthesiology, sleep and breathing.

Dr. Lydic currently serves as the Bert La Du professor of anesthesiology and the co-director of the University of Michigan's Center for Sleep Science. Before joining UM in 1999, he served at Harvard Medical School and the Penn State University College of Medicine.

The Excellence in Research Award, the highest award given by the American Society of Anesthesiology, will be presented to Dr. Lydic in October. The ASA presents two Excellence in Research Awards each year to recognize research accomplishments in the anesthesiology field.
