Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth have named Sheila Ryan Barnett, MD, as chair of the department of anesthesiology.
Dr. Barnett is an associate professor of anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and has been on staff at Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for more than 20 years, according to a Sept. 12 press release.
She most recently served as director of quality for community anesthesia for Harvard Faculty Medical Physicians at Beth Israel Lahey Health.
She is triple board-certified in anesthesiology, internal medicine and geriatric medicine, and has served on multiple committees for geriatrics and quality within the American Society of Anesthesiology and is a board member of the Anesthesia Quality Institute.
She began her tenure with Dartmouth on Aug. 19.
