Connecticut Anesthesiologist Fined for Presenting False Information on License Renewal Form

The Connecticut Medical Examining Board recently imposed a reprimand and a $1,000 civil fine on Dmitry Mironov, MD, an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist who allegedly submitted a license renewal form containing false information, according to a New Haven Independent report.

Dr. Mironov was censured and fined by New York in Feb. 2010 after being found guilty in 2008 of driving while intoxicated and falsely answering 'no' to a question on his registration application regarding his misdemeanor conviction. Despite the New York charges, he was practicing without license restrictions in Connecticut.

Last month, the state medical board took action against Dr. Mironov's license after the state Department of Public Health found that the physician submitted a license renewal form denying his involvement in pending disciplinary action by another state's licensing authority.

At the time, Dr. Mironov was under investigation by the New York Department of Health.
