CareFusion medical technology company will present the results of a closed-loop medication safety initiative completed with Corniche Hospital in the United Arab Emirates.
The program shares data and centralizes clinical information between three CareFusion systems, the Pyxis MedStation system, the Pyxis Anesthesia system and the Cerner electronic health record.
The automation creates streamline processes to close the loop on medication administration. For bar-coded medication administration, the compliance rate increased from 91.25 percent to 95.7 percent, exceeding project targets.
