ASA Develops Information to Assist With Identifying, Preventing Complications Associated With Robo Tripping

The American Society of Anesthesiologists has developed information regarding how to identify individuals who are Robo tripping, the abuse of over-the-counter cough and cold medications, and what can be done to prevent overdose and health complications.

Dextromethorphan (DXM) is the synthetic drug found in cough medications abused by individuals, and is available in more than 125 medications.

Nearly 10 percent of American teens have admitted to getting high on cough medication containing DXM.
