The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York announced the appointment of Charles Schleien, MD, as chair of pediatrics.
Before joining CCMC, Dr. Schleien was executive vice chairman in the department of pediatrics at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and professor of pediatrics and anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Schleien served as the director of the division of pediatric critical care medicine at Columbia, which he founded upon his arrival in 1999. He also served as medical director of the pediatric intensive care unit at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of Columbia University.
Dr. Schleien received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
