Anesthesia & Analgesia, the official journal of the International Anesthesia Research Society, has reported continued increase in the journal's impact factor, the rating of academic and scientific journals tracked and published annually by Thomson Reuters.
The journal's 2010 impact factor increased from 3.08-3.27. Impact factor is calculated based on the ratio of the number of citations in the previous year to articles published in the two years prior to the total number of citable articles in the two prior years.
Over the past five years, the impact factor of Anesthesia & Analgesia has steadily increased by approximately 50 percent. The journal's impact factor was 2.1 in 2006.
