Sheridan, AmSurg's physician services division, acquired Jandee Anesthesiology Partners and Karadan Anesthesiology and Pain Management, thereby expanding its anesthesiology services business.
Here are seven key points:
1. Jandee Anesthesiology Partners and Karadan Anesthesiology and Pain Management have five physicians. The groups' five physicians provide anesthesia services at nine ambulatory surgery centers and other New Jersey and New York practices.
2. Through the acquisition, AmSurg can build upon its New Jersey anesthesia practices.
3. In April, AmSurg acquired Jacksonville-based North Florida Anesthesia Consultants, a practice comprised of more than 70 physicians, certified registered nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologist assistants.
4. In 2015, AmSurg significantly expanded its anesthesia business. Sheridan acquired Daytona Beach, Fla.-based Halifax Anesthesiology Associates in April last year, and also acquired Florida-based Coastal Anesthesiology Consultants in July 2015.
5. The company strengthened its presence in Florida through its 2015 acquisition of Bay Area Anesthesia in Tampa.
6. In December 2015, AmSurg acquired Northside Anesthesiology Consultants and Valley Anesthesiology & Pain Consultants in Phoenix the month prior.
7. As of March 31, 2016, AmSurg owned and operated 256 ASCs and one surgical hospital in 34 states and the District of Columbia.
"We are appreciative of this group's vote of confidence in our operations and our growing New Jersey practice. Jandee Anesthesiology Partners will now join a network of more than 30 New Jersey hospitals and ambulatory centers served by Sheridan anesthesia providers, and we expect further growth in the New York-New Jersey marketplace going forward, " said Robert Coward, president of Sheridan and AmSurg's chief development officer.
